Meet the Halifax Partnership

November 17, 2015

The Halifax Partnership is an economic development organization dedicated to attracting, assisting, cultivating and retaining business in Halifax, a city that serves as the economic hub of not only Nova Scotia but Atlantic Canada as a whole. Under the motto and mission statement “Connect. Collaborate. Prosper.” we work to:

  • Bring high-wage, high growth companies to the region
  • Connect area enterprises with investors, provincial programs and initiatives, and other private-and-public-sector resources
  • Pair businesses with skilled, qualified local professionals seeking employment
  • Understand the present-day economic climate in Halifax and analyze current conditions to predict future trends

“Our motto and mission statement is ‘Connect.
Collaborate. Prosper.’”

Every year, we release an annual report that serves as a snapshot of the city’s corporate climate and highlights major economic projects. The publication also provides a rundown of our accomplishments over the previous 12 months, including establishing provincial, national and international partnerships, attracting new investors and expanding the reach of our core initiatives, such as the Connector Program and the SmartBusiness Program. The latest edition of the report, which covers 2014 and 2015, was released last May.

The Halifax Partnership also publishes the annual Halifax Index, which we describe as “an economic gut check with insights for action.” The report is split into four main sections – People, Economy, Quality of Place and Sustainability – that delve into everything from trends within the local labour force to the quality of the city’s air and drinking water.

As Halifax’s lead economic development organization, we want to make sure you’re aware of the resources we provide. What do you want to know about the Partnership? Leave us a comment on Facebook or send us a message on Twitter.
