April Howe joined the Public Service Commission December of 2017 and with a multi-disciplinary team, she oversee the creation and implementation of employee engagement, diversity & inclusion, and employee learning and development initiatives for Nova Scotia public service employees. 

April completed her Executive Masters of Business at Saint Mary's University, Sobey School of Business. Formerly, April was a partner with Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette for 15 years. Previous to KBRS, she held marketing and senior administrative roles within the federal government, recruitment, and communications sectors.

April serves as a Director on Boards of the Halifax Partnership, the IWK Foundation, the United Way Halifax Region and the Black Business Initiative. Previously, she was a founding board member and served as Chair of the Africville Heritage Trust, and as HR Chair on the Board of Dress for Success. As a mentor to young professionals, April enjoys mentoring and providing advice and guidance to soon-to-be leaders in the community.
