Peter has enjoyed over 35 years of diversified experience – from teaching to politics, broadcasting, the law, healthcare, international sport and now the airport industry.

He is currently responsible for all corporate communications for the Halifax International Airport Authority including media relations, issue management and corporate reputation; the retail, food and beverage and service development at Halifax Stanfield International Airport; as well as the airport’s relations with all three levels of government. 

In his career, Peter has served as the Director of Communications in the office of Nova Scotia Premier John Hamm; Principal in his own communications consultancy; a member of Canada’s bid team for the 2014 Commonwealth Games; Vice President of the Atlantic Canadian office of Weber Shandwick Worldwide; Director of Communications for the Nova Scotia Department of Justice; and as the Director of Public Affairs at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax; taught junior and senior high school and worked for 12 years in radio and television presentation and production.

On a volunteer basis, Peter is a member of the Neptune Theatre Board of Directors. He chaired the 2009 Tall Ships Media Services Committee; the Communications & Media Services Committee for the 2003 World Junior and 2004 World Women’s and 2008 World Men’s Hockey Championships; chaired the Public Relations Committee of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Halifax Business Awards; and served two terms as President of the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and two terms on the CPRS National Board of Directors.
