Jason Guidry

Director, Trade & International Activities

Jason is a business development expert in the economic development field. He is currently Director of Trade and International Activities with Halifax’s economic development organization, the Halifax Partnership. In this role, Jason works one-on-one with businesses to help them connect to resources and partners they need to succeed and prosper.  Through his work with individual companies Jason helps to identify systemic, company-common issues within industries, or geographic areas.  Once identified, a stakeholder-lead response team is brought together to tackle the issue.  Jason also works with key partners to make Halifax a welcoming place for businesses and assists with the attraction of new businesses and their integration into the Halifax business community.

Jason brings with him a mix of both public and private sector knowledge.  In addition to his strong financial background, Jason is a seasoned economic development professional with experience in business retention and expansion (BRE), investment attraction, and sector development.  Jason’s Acadian roots give him the ability to serve businesses in both French and English.

Jason is a Director with the Canadian International Council (CIC), Halifax branch; a Director with Contact Centre Nova Scotia (CCNS), a Director with Business Retention & Expansion International (BREI), an active member representing Halifax in the Consider Canada City Alliance (CCCA); and serves as Halifax’s representative on the Federation of Municipalities – Global Affairs Canada (GAC) Joint Working Group.

Jason has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in management and marketing, and a certificate in human resources management from Saint Mary’s University; and a certificate in public service management from the University of New Brunswick/Université de Moncton.
