New App Will Connect Young Talent To Industry Professionals Across Nova Scotia

Halifax, NS, March 20, 2019 –The Halifax Partnership is set to launch Connector+, a web and mobile application for professional networking. The application provides an online version of the Partnership’s Connector Program that allows business professionals to match, connect, and refer young talent to industry professionals across Nova Scotia.

“The Connector Program has been proven to be a simple and effective model for talent retention,” says Robyn Webb, Director, Labour Market Development, Halifax Partnership. “The fundamental idea behind the program is the power of connections. With Connector+, industry professionals and young talent will have the flexibility to choose when and how they meet.”

Connector+ builds on the success of the award-winning and internationally replicated Connector Program, by creating a new digital platform on which industry professionals and young talent can connect. This platform allows the program to expand from supporting 600 Connectees annually to reach thousands across Nova Scotia.

“We want more young people to call Nova Scotia home, building their careers and lives here,” said Internal Services Minister Patricia Arab, on behalf of Labour and Advanced Education Minister Labi Kousoulis. “By offering programs that support new grads, we are providing opportunities for them to tap into their potential and grow their careers.”

Supported by the Province of Nova Scotia and with funding through the Canada-Nova Scotia Workforce Development Agreement, the app will be launched as a pilot and will expand throughout the province in 2019. The app is being launched in partnership with the following Connector Programs delivered by the Cape Breton Partnership, Western REN, Eastern Strait REN, and Valley REN. Connector+ will be available for download on the App Store or Google Play and at
