HALIFAX, NS, July 16, 2015 - The Halifax Partnership today announced that its Board of Directors has named Ronald (Ron) Hanlon to serve as the organization’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Ron joins the Halifax Partnership with over 20 years of experience in executive and senior management roles in the private sector – most recently as President and CEO of Price Mechanical in Minnesota and previously at Daikin-McQuay international. Ron has extensive business development, sales and marketing experience and holds a Professional Engineer designation. Ron recently returned to Nova Scotia where he has family and where he completed his education.
“Ron has led several private sector companies and has a proven track record in business development and organizational growth,” said Robin McAdam, Chair of the Board of Directors. “His experience will be an excellent asset as the Partnership focuses on strengthening private sector leadership, engagement and investment in Halifax’s economic growth.”
Ron will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer on August 10th, 2015. Interim President and CEO, Michele McKenzie, will remain engaged to ensure a smooth transition.
“This is an exciting time for a new leader to join the Partnership,” said McAdam. “The Board thanks Michele McKenzie for her leadership as Interim President and CEO over the past number of months. Michele provided steady guidance and has strengthened the organization in key areas.”
The selection committee included members of the Board of Directors and Partnership investors. The search was conducted by Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette.
